Playerunknown's Battleground's

The World of PlayerUnknown's BattleGround's on XB1

What is PlayerUnkown's BattleGround's?

Also known as PUBG, 100 players parachute onto an island with nothing but the clothes on their back. The first few minutes are spent looting for healing, weapons and armor. Much needed things to survive this last man standing game. If you are skilled (or lucky) enough to be number one you are rewarded with a lovely "Chicken Dinner". Who doesn't love chicken dinners like mom used to cook? Along with the ability to win the game, you are given in game currency ( BP ), based on your kills and time in game, to buy cosmetic upgrades/rewards. The game sounds simple, Find guns and survive. Well, the creators behind PUBG thought of that and added twist and turns to the already heart pounding game.

Adding a shrinking map may not seem that bad, but if you’re ever stuck behind that blue line of death, well that's it, run and pray you find a vehicle to get within the white circle or die trying. As you progress in the game, the number of players alive will decrease and each blue line proves more and more treacherous to your health, so you best be prepared.

So just when you felt like you got the handle of the game, you encounter the dreaded “red circle”. “What is that?” I hear you ask. That my friend is what we call a bombing circle. For a short period of time the bombing circle will appear in areas randomly throughout the player area just to attempt to decrease the amount of players in the game. Best way to live is find a house or take your chances running!

PUBG on XBOX

While PUBG has been out on pc for a year now. The creatures have branched out at the end of 2017, giving console players on xbox the ability to join in the fun. Launching on December 12th, The game was far from the pc version with the first clue being titled as “preview”. Many players at this time felt discouraged to buy the game at full price, knowing that it would endure many updates and bug fixes, unlike the perceived perfection of PC. But millions flooded into the servers on day one, finding a new love for a game that will hopefully live on for some time.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT FROM PC TO XBOX?

Lucky enough the team behind PUBG on pc are also creating the Xbox version of the game, with some help from Microsoft. The creators have said the Xbox version is about 6 months behind the pc game, with regular updates coming to pc and Xbox, its safe to say that Xbox wont be catching up to the pc version for a long time. In recent updates they have announced that pc map Miramar will be coming this Spring, giving Xbox players an idea on what to expect from future updates and add-ons to the game. If you want to see the new map, venture to twitch or other streaming platforms to get the lay of the land once it is released.

One of the biggest disappointments I have found from the xbox version, which I am sure many of you will have found, is that while PC is loaded down with different clothing options, Xbox is very limited to the loot we are able to obtain. FPS, weapons, cars and graphics are all on the list of things that are missing from PUBG XBOX, but with the constant reminder that xbox is behind by 6 months we learn to not complain. Although this is a downfall on the game for xbox, we do not have to battle with endless loading screens, like with many PC players, as the build of our console is not as unique as the desktops.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH PUBG XBOX

While PUBG on Xbox is far from bring polished with may more glitches and bugs to fix, I highly recommend this game to everyone. It's fun and it keeps you at the edge of your seat without having to play Friday The 13th at night. If you are a Solo player or like teams of 4, this game has something for most player types and is always a different experience with every round. This is an 16+ game, and therefore you shouldn’t (hopefully) have to deal with any age issues, even if there isn’t any voice chat to deal with.

There are many ways to play PUBG on both Xbox and console, however, the two main objectives are to win, or to kill. This is fundamentally asking a player whether they want to have 10 kills and die before the final zone, or have 2 kills and make it to the illustrious chicken dinner. When I first began PUBG at the beginning of the year, it was a run fast, grab what you saw, and stay inside the circle. This resulted in a lot of lag during the early releases of the game, disconnections and a couple of other issues. This resulted in my ability to play the game, hard.

Overtime, I decided to go for kills over wins, which proved beneficial as a result of the recent patches and updates causing less game lag and crashes. I then began to enjoy the game more and have fun. I do seem to survive longer when playing duos with my friend, as we often make it into the top 10, whilst also jumping at the military base (which for those of you who play pubg, understand the achievement this is!).
